Discuss the accuracy of this assessment in terms of Jackson's personality, the struggle over the National Bank, his policy toward Native Americans, and his views and actions concerning the tariff. 2. Explain what caused the Nullification Crisis of 1832, give the rationale behind Calhoun's objections, describe Jackson's action, and explain what finally resulted. Discuss the implications of this crisis for the future of American democracy. 3. Explain why some people supported the Bank of the United States and others did not. Against this background, explain why and how Jackson "killed" the bank, and show what resulted for the nation and its economic system. 4. Describe how the Jackson administration dealt with the Native American tribes and how they viewed the Native Americans in general.
